Stained Glass Workshops
Create a beautiful sun catcher, a small panel, or a few ornaments to grace your home or give as gifts. In this class we will cover all of the skills and techniques to build a unique piece of stained glass art.
We will begin by looking at stained glass art and patterns. You can choose a pattern or create your own design. Next we will discuss types and characteristics of glass and choose appropriate colors and textures for your project. We will learn the art of cutting, grinding and Tiffany copper foiling. Finally we will learn soldering techniques and finish our pieces with patina and wax.
Most students can finish a stained glass piece with 8 or less pieces of glass in about 4 1/2 hours. Students who choose designs that take longer than 4 1/2 hours to complete can sign up for additional hours in upcoming classes and return to finish their pieces. Additional studio time is $6.25 per 15 minute increments.
This is a perfect class for students with no experience as well as intermediate students with some experience who may want a refresher course. All levels are welcome.
All glass and supplies are included in the tuition as is the use of all tools..
Tuition for the 4 hour Stained Glass 101 workshop which includes all materials and supplies for a small panel: $125. (Larger works will require students to purchase glass and supplies).
